So this is actually extremely important for all blog writers to risk-free their wordpress blog. In this post, we’d be looking at 5 steps to secure your own wordpress blog.1. utilizing protected sign in: Upon sign in, wordpress sends the entered password in plain text to the server. if you are on a public system, it is easy for an attackers to sniff the password. There is this particular plugin known as “chap secure login”, that encrypts every password that you key in. Thus even if a good attacker is sniffing upon the particular system, he may not get your pass word in simple textual content. You may very easily find this plugin from wordpress’s plugin internet site.2. Anti-brute forcing: If you do not realize what brute forcing is, it’s exactly about coordinating every term of dictionary as well as through 0 to 9 randomly in order to check for your security password. Which actually requires plenty of attemps before an individual may acquire your password. This plugin referred to as “login lockdown”, is the remedy to it. It records IP and attemps for admin login upon your blog. And if there tend to be Way too many failed logins from the identical IP, this will block it.3. Use a solid password: It is really essential that a person do NOT use your own password which is really simple to be broke. Nearly everybody knows about it, nevertheless a great deal of people fail for this.make sure you use a password with numbers, alphabets and symbols in it. Also, include capital letters if possible. 4. Make sure you have the wordpress update:Typically, whenever wordpress lets out a brand new version, the concerns in the outdated edition are made public on their site. An attacker can easily realize the issues in the previous edition and then find blogs which are not yet updated. And if you are one of those blog owners who’s blog is not updated, he can very easily get into your admin panel without any hassels. That is exactly why it is really important for you to have latest version of wordpress on your blog.Wish you found this write-up helpful and will probably surely help you to save your wordpress blog from cyber-terrorist. Ofcourse there is a lot more you can do to secure your server, however, these are just the pretty basic steps that will get you started.

A Threat to Your WordPress Blog: Duplicate Content
Article by Oleg Ishenko, SEOResearcher.com
Full version of the article including tutorial can be found here: Making Your WordPress Blog Duplicate Content Safe
Blogging is extremely popular these days. And the most popular stand-alone blog engine is WordPress. It is flexible, has many useful featires and there is a lot of eye-catching templates for it. But those who have a WordPress blog must be aware of a serious problem that can cause your blog to be removed from Google’s search results. The problem is: Duplicate Content.
WordPress content management system which, when used with the default configuration, is not duplicate content proof. In fact this CMS is capable to render almost 100% of your content duplicate. As usual the fault of the system has roots in its advantages. WordPress has many features facilitating blogging and linking, such as RSS feeds to posts and comments, trackback URLs, monthly archives and so on. In the same time this variety of URLs returning similar or identical pages represents a clear case of duplicate content.
WordPress And Duplicate Content
The first evidences of duplicate content produced by your WordPress CMS can be found in your sidebar. They are category pages and monthly/daily archives. Category pages store your articles posted under the same topic — a category. Such pages have no unique content; they are just a collection of your previous posts. Monthly and daily archives also simply group your previous articles by the date of posting. Sometimes when you have only one post in a given day, the archive page for the date and your post are totally identical.
The next case of duplicate content is even more prominent. It can be your home page itself. If it contains not excerpts but the full text of your posts, then it duplicates your post pages. This also applies to the “next/previous entries” pages — those accessible via /page/2, /3, /4 etc.
Feeds. Search engine spiders crawl all the content they can reach and of course this includes RSS feeds too. The additional problem with them is that Google may choose to display your RSS URL in the search results over the link to the original post. In this case the user who clicks this result will see an XML formatted page which is not “human-friendly”.
Trackback URLs. Many WordPress templates add trackback links after posts. This links enable authors to track who links to their posts. Usually, if your post URL looks like “www.yoursite.com/2006-11-30/yourpost/” its trackback URL will be “www.yoursite.com/2006-11-30/yourpost/trackback/”.
Identical meta-description. By default WordPress doesn”t provide a tool to add unique meta description tags to your posts, and they either have none or share a single site-wide description. Having no meta description at all is a disadvantage, as a properly written one can make your snippet stand out in a SERP. Having an identical description for all your pages is a threat, as Google might get them filtered out as too similar.
Because of the duplicate content Google search can return less desired URLs (such as feeds or archives instead of original posts); your pages can be moved out of their index, or placed into the supplemental results, which are rarely displayed to users.

Create a Great Looking WordPress Blog
Article by Vincent Richman
I used to run across somebody’s blog almost every day when I was surfing the ‘net and ask myself, “how in the world did they DO that!?” I would see the beautiful wordpress header graphics, the custom wordpress weblog setup, the individualized administrator names, the custom wordpress category names and all those other bells and whistles that make the site look so good compared to my own plain vanilla straight from wordpress blogs.
A wordpress blog is easy to set up right from your website’s control panel. Once you have it set up, it is easy to use to update yoursite’s content. Best of all, it is free. But, if you are a computer-dunce like me, it is almost impossible to imagine doing anything with the site beyond just making posts and managing comments.
Fortunately, I found an amazingly inexpensive e-book called SITES THAT SOAR! and discovered that I could customize my wordpress blog to make my site look like I paid a professional web designer thousands of dollars to set it up for me.
SITES THAT SOAR! was written by an artist who wanted her website to look good, but didn’t want to pay out the nose to have someone else do it for her. So, she set up a basic wordpress blog and then spent days and days scouring the internet for resources to help her customize her site.
She found what works and what doesnt’t work and then she took the time to organize her notes into an easy to read e-book and made it available to everyone who wants a great looking website that is easy to use and ranks high in the search engines.
WordPress is an incredibly flexible product, and there is a vast amount of free advice out there for using it, but until now it hasnever been all brought together into one easy to use guide that a non-geek can understand and use.
SITES THAT SOAR! leads you step by step through the wordpress setup and customizing process, so you can:
–Install a customizable magazine style theme (skin) to make your site unique.
–Modify your wordpress header graphic for your own personal branding.
–Change your wordpress navigation bar to fit your own needs.
–Do a few simple changes for wordpress search engine optimization.
–Enable the placement of photographs and other images inside your articles.
–Use wordpress and custom plugins for special functions.
–Set up the wordpress sidebar the way you want it.
–And, much, much more…
If you sit down with SITES THAT SOAR! and use it to set up your first blog, you can finish the whole process in less than a day, instead of spending weeks scouring the internet trying to figure things out for yourself. After your first blog, you will cut the time for each new one more and more until you will be able to get a new wordpress blog based website up and running in just a couple of hours from start to finish.
If you want to spend less time building your site and more time creating your own perfect content, then the tiny investment inSITES THAT SOAR! will be the best thing you do for yourself today.

WordPress – Blog Humbug
Article by Cary Ganz
Initially when I created my first blog there were many options. It wasn’t important which blogging application you chose (Blogger, WordPress etc.) because they were, at least in my mind, equal in in their functionality.
Well, I have got to admit that I was not only naive but totally wrong. Today, I have probably ten or more blogs and most of them are on the WordPress platform. The early ones were created in Blogger because Blogger seemed to have a greater presence in the Internet and appeared to be a bigger player.
Once again, I was mistaken. In one simple word, WordPress is, as my kids say, “Awesome”. Let me explain why.
1. It’s Free. If you’ve read anything I’ve written before or have been a member of one of my websites, you know I just love free.
2. It Works. Now free is great but working as promised is even greater. Are there many products you purchased or even received for free, that have really functioned as claimed? Not many I guess….
3. It’s Open Source. By opening the code to all programmers, WordPress has grown by leaps and bounds. Today there are thousands of applications, themes and plug-ins available that would not be around if the code was protected.
4. It’s Easy to Setup and Install – It’s very simple to install a WordPress blog using cPanel. All you need to do is register a domain, or even use an existing domain, start Fantastico and let it do all the work.
5. Simplicity – Once you’ve installed WordPress, the dashboard controls practically every process you need to deal with in order to maximize your blog.
6. Blog or Need I Say Website – WordPress blogs are far more than what blogs were years or even months ago. Today they can be complete websites with all of the functionality previously only available with HTML type programming. It’s even possible to create a membership site including all of the sophisticated features just using a blog. Kind of cool….
7. Did I Say Plug-in? – Now, this is really where the power begins. If you’re not really a WordPress guru, plug-ins are small applications that provide great power to WordPress. With the right plug-in you can do just about anything with your blog such as SEO, chatting, converting text to speech, adding videos, tracking etc. Truly amazing not only in their ability but in their number. Thousands of plug-ins exist today and the majority are free.
Conclusion – If you are currently thinking about either creating a blog or have a need to fabricate a new website, I would sincerely suggest that you take a look at using WordPress. If you are in need of help in getting your blog up and running there are numerous eBook and other material to help you.

What are the Benefits of Using a WordPress Blog?
Article by Steve Duval
WordPress is one of the most popular blog sites on the Internet today. It allows anyone with a valid e-mail address to create his or her own personal or business blog. For a small fee, you can purchase a WordPress account, which provides even more functionality for online marketing. When you sign up with WordPress, you gain access to several different templates and plug-in that allow you to customize your blog so that it fits in with your business website design seamlessly. Blogging can be a powerful way to create interest in your site and generate a higher volume of traffic without spending extra marketing money.
Give Your Business a Personality
When you create a WordPress blog and update it regularly you have an opportunity to give your business some personality and character. An Internet marketing site can be relatively anonymous and faceless for the average web consumer. A blog, on the other hand, is something that gives customers a peek into the daily life of someone involved with your business. The informal design of a blog gives Internet consumers a chance to get to know the people who are behind the business better, which makes it easier for them to trust you and spend money on your site.
Interactive Elements Get Customers Involved
WordPress offers several opportunities for your customers to interact directly with you and your company. They can create conversations by responding to posts that are related to things they are interested in. When you build a blog post you can provide more information than you would normally give on a regular web page. That extra info can contain links to images or product pages that your customers can click to access the materials you are discussing. WordPress also encourages visitors to share posts that they find interesting with other networking sites, which means free advertising for your company.
Multiple Marketing Plug-in
WordPress has some specific marketing plug-ins that can help you convert casual visitors to regular customers. Widgets can allow visitors to request a list of articles that contain similar content so that they can learn more about the products that you promote. WordPress has powerful sharing plug-in that allow you to create customized browsing experiences for visitors based on the networking sites that they are signed up with. Personalized landing pages will recognize the program a customer is using and create content for your blog that works directly with those programs.
Drive Traffic to Your Site
WordPress also gives you plug-in that are designed to optimize your blog’s search engine rankings. You can use plug-in that help you control exactly what search engines find when they index your site, which allows you to target your search terms more carefully. There are SEO site map creators, as well as plug-in that will make sure all of the images and links on your blog are search engine friendly. The higher your blog ranks on search engines, the more likely people will find your online marketing site. WordPress is an inexpensive way to increase your web traffic, which can lead to more sales and higher profits.

How to Secure Your WordPress Blog

How to Secure Your WordPress Blog
Article by Gavinmaqjr441
Does WordPress have enough security? The answer is yes. But you need to make the necessary settings on your WordPress, that’s very important.
WordPress is the most widely used blog software all over the world. It’s more vulnerable to malicious attacks, so the security of WordPress is also a very important issue. The following safety tips mean to help you to solve the WordPress’ security issues.
WordPress is one of the most popular platforms for self-hosted blogs and websites. While WordPress is pretty secure out of the box, there are always going to be individuals who want to make trouble by finding a way to crack into accounts or sites to cause damage or inject hidden spammy links. That’s why it’s important to make sure that your WordPress installation is as secure as possible.
<h2>1. Update</h2>
No software system is immune to bugs and vulnerabilities. Security holes will be discovered and bad guys will do their best to exploit them. Keeping your software up-to-date is a good way to stave off attacks, because reliable software vendors will fix their products once security holes are found.
For web-based software, staying on top of updates is a must. Lots of WordPress users learned that the hard way last September when a wave of attacks spread across sites not running the latest version of the software.
Fortunately, keeping your WordPress site up-to-date is one of the easiest things you can do. For the last few versions, WordPress has included the ability to install automatic updates. Not only that, but sites are notified every time a new upgrade becomes available.
If you aren’t running the latest version of WordPress, upgrade now. Leaving your site on an old version is like keeping your door unlocked when you leave for vacation.
<h2>2. Use Strong WordPress Account Passwords</h2>
In addition to adding a secret key to your wp-config.php file, also consider changing your user password to something that is strong and unique. WordPress will tell you the strength of your password, but a good tip is to avoid common phrases, use upper and lowercase letters, and include numbers. It’s also a good idea to change your password regularly – say once every six months.
If you use a program like Password for Mac or Windows, you can store your password in your browser securely and also generate complex and secure passwords on the fly, which makes changing your passwords less of a chore.
<h2>3. Use Secret Keys in your WP-Config File</h2>
In WordPress, the wp-config.php file is the file that stores the database information that WordPress needs to connect its circuit, so-to-speak. This file contains the name, address and password of the MySQL database that stores all of your user info, blog posts and other important content.
Using a secret key, you can make it even more difficult for someone to gain access to your account.
Go to https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/ and copy the results into this section of your wp-config.php file if you haven’t set up a secret key.
<h2>4. Keep Your Htaccess File in Check</h2>
Using a .htaccess file, you can set access limits to certain directories. You can tie those limits to a specific IP address, which means that only people from that location can access your information.
<h2>5. Know Your File Permissions</h2>
Often, hackers are able to gain access to your site because you left files or folders with permissions that are simply too liberal.
Depending on how you have installed WordPress, or the default practices from your webhost, the permissions for files and folders on your WordPress installed may not be appropriate.
The WordPress Codex has an outline of what permissions are acceptable. File and directory permissions can be changed either via an FTP client or within the administrative page from your web host.
This page details more about how file permissions work and how to change them using a number of different systems.
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
This guide isn’t meant to be all-inclusive, but an overview of things you can do to make your WordPress blog more secure. Share your own security best practices in the comments. Safe blogging! Of course, you can visit my website http://www.free-themes-complete.com for more information.
Good Luck and God Bless.

7 Strategies To Increase Website Traffic Through WordPress Blogs
Article by Luca Di Nicola
Blogs have become very powerful and can do fantastic things for a business. Because they are very Search Engine friendly they can work to increase traffic to your website very quickly.
A blog is simply an easy way to share your thoughts, ideas and even promote your products or services. People are on the internet searching for information that interests them and once they find a site that provides good updated content about their interests they will most likely keep coming back for more
Implement some of these strategies and you’ll see traffic building fast.
1) WordPress is the best blogging platform
I recommend WordPress self hosted platform for a number of reasons. If you’re into Internet Marketing or just Blogging for the long run you’ll want to brand yourself and make it easy for people to find your site.
2) Get your own domain name
As I mentioned before you’ll need to brand yourself and having a domain name related to your product or service is the first step. There are many hosting companies that offer great service and pricing but Hostgator is one of the best in my opinion. They will help you to set up your WordPress blog or standard website.
3) Choose your WordPress template wisely
There are so many free WordPress templates available that it can become overwhelming. To start with choose one that is visually appealing and that is plugin ready. Plugins are free as well an can add additional functionality to your WordPress blog.
4) All in One SEO Pack pluging is a must that will help to increase traffic
The -All in One SEO Pack- will help optimize your WordPress blog for Search Engines. – It automatically optimizes titles for search engines – Generates META tags for you, – Avoids duplicate content that can be a problem with WordPress blogs
5) Google XML Sitemap plugin
This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It will support pages WordPress and custom pages. Every time you edit or create a post, your sitemap will be updated and all of the major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.
6) Content for your Blog
You will need to work on creating original content for your site and updating it on a regular basis. Content refers to the articles or postings that you write and publish on your blog. It should be relevant to your niche so that when people search for information about your niche they can be referred to your site by the search engines.
7) Getting more traffic to your site
There are many free ways to get additional traffic to your blog. Article Marketing is one way. Posting comments on related blogs is another and visiting forums and becoming part of the community will also get you more visibility.
Having a popular and successful blog will take some time even though some may tell you otherwise. It is a combination of hard work interesting content and learning more about website traffic. If you will take the time to write good content and work on getting traffic you will have no trouble increasing website traffic over time. Staying focused, having a plan and not giving up too quickly. After building a readership you will be able to keep them coming back as long as you post on a regular basis and give your readers information they’re interested in.

A Review Of Auto Hyperlink URL Plugin For WordPress Blogs

A Review Of Auto Hyperlink URL Plugin For WordPress Blogs
Article by samantha milner
So, you’ve been writing on your Microsoft Word and you have become accustomed to the program automatically converting the URLs you type into clickable links. You’ve been posting in several forums and you’ve become used to the system creating hyperlinks for the web addresses you share without having to onerously type those and BBcodes. You’ve been posting ads on popular classifieds on the web, and you have grown confident that the email address you type will immediately be hyperlinked and such can result to an increased response rate.
Why, then, do you have to take a step backwards when it comes to your WordPress blog?
Why should WordPress, the industry standard when it comes to blogging platforms, have to make life harder for you by requiring HTML encoding just to create correct hyperlinks for the email addresses URLs you type?
If you’ve been maintaining a WordPress blog for a significant period of time, you’ll know what we’re talking about.
- When a URL is succeeded by a period, a parentheses or another character necessary for the correctness of the sentence structure, WordPress will also add that character to the hyperlink it will generate, hence causing visitors to be taken to an invalid URL.
- When a term is typed that includes the character “@” in the middle, WordPress mistakes it for an email address and automatically hyperlinks the same even if it corresponds to an invalid email destination like joey@work or Johnny@play.
- When a URL is too long, WordPress still displays it, which often results in distorted pages that makes viewing less convenient and enjoyable.Indeed, WordPress’ hyperlinking system is flawed.
This is where plugins come in.
The best plugin that remedies all the shortcomings of WordPress’ default hyperlinks is Auto Hyperlink URL. This clever little add-on has become an absolute necessity for WordPress bloggers.
Aside from correcting all the problems of WordPress’ default hyperlinking system which we have enumerated above, the Auto Hyperlink URL allows blog operators to:
- Truncate URLs after they reach a certain number of characters;
- Include words that will precede and succeed truncated URLs;
- Allow text URLs to show only the hostname;
- Open a new window when a URL is clicked so that visitors won’t have to leave the blog page;
- Make the blog page “nofollow” to prevent the proliferation of spam on the comments section;
- Read class B domain references (links that are not preceded by “www”).Installing the Auto Hyperlink URL WordPress plugin is just as easy as installing other plugins. Simply download the Auto Hyperlink URL plugin and upload the same to your wp-content/plugins folder. Thereafter, install the Auto Hyperlink URL from your WordPress Plugin menu in the admin panel.
In this day and age when linking has taken central stage in the race for top search engine positions and when read rate is determined by interlinking blog posts within the same blog, the Auto Hyperlink URL WordPress plugin has become a mandatory addition to any WordPress blog.

We recommend that you download this Plugin and place it straight on your Blog in order to get the best results. Visit http://www.myeasyonlinepay.com/blogging-tools for a comprehensive selection of Plugins on the internet today.
