There have been many who have tried and failed at trying to make it in the online blogging business. Many believe that the world of blogging if it were to be turned to a profit generating tool, would require a person to be very charismatic, relevant and in touch with current trends, and most importantly very interesting. This is not really a necessary requirement, no doubt they will help but in reality any person with a decent amount of intelligence, diligent spirit and the basic knowledge about the technology used in blogging, may very well be successful in the field as well. The main issue which plagues bloggers is their high expectations of themselves as they all think that their rise to the top will be a fast one. This is not true as to achieve anything at all with your blogging you must start with a plan, a realistic one at that, and find the motivation to stick with it, only then will you reap success from your blogging.

The first step in making your blog a profitable one is to first win the hearts of the people. The absence of readers or followers of your blog will instantly spell doom to your dream of a profit making blog. Advertisers will only be interested in doing business with you if your blog has a significant amount of readers. It must be noted though that accumulating that many readers is no easy task, as more and more blogs are appearing on a daily basis and the competition has reached a stage whereby it is so tight that by simply having a great idea and intriguing writing styles is no longer enough.

The main issue with many bloggers today, is that they are focusing their time and efforts a little too one sided. Similar to many other bloggers, the main issue which all bloggers are concerned of, are the contents of their blog. Yes it is a fact that a well updated and maintained blog would keep visitors coming, however what use would keeping your readers returning if you are unable to increase the number of readers. Thus it is a key factor when trying to create a profitable blog to focus on marketing your blog to the public as well. If you feel that your posts are overly time consuming then try and decrease the frequency that you update your blog and focus more on expanding your reader pool. Use methods such as link exchanges with other blogs to increase your readers.

Even if you are a marketing mastermind you should be prepared to face the slow start which every new blog faces. The amount of readers you will require before your blog starts becoming a profitable investment is not a small sum. Thus be prepared for the slow start and never lose hope. Provide your blog with as much commitment as you can to ensure that your blog is able to survive through the initial period at the begin

What is your blogging for profit plan? Many marketers have big dreams about building up big time profits with a blog. That is a great goal and very attainable but what is your plan for achieving that goal?

Most likely you already have what it takes to build a profitable blogging empire. If you have even below average intelligence and the will to work that you can do it.

But why is it that very few, less than 5% actually, ever attain the goal that they made of making a full time income from blogging?

Overcoming the first problem is simple, don’t expect to quit your day job next month and don’t put in so much time that you get burned out. Most people spend every waking moment building their blog thinking that they will make so much money that they can go full time in a matter of weeks. That’s not going to happen. 6 months is a realistic goal though.

Spend an hour or two per day building your blogging empire so you don’t burn out.

The second obstacle is also easy to overcome. Find a marketer who has a proven traffic generating system who has given other people a successful system to follow.

Any marketer who knows what he is talking about is going to shoot you straight though and there will be work to do, if he tells you otherwise then run.

Many would be successful people give up and quit because they don’t have a handle on these two dynamics. Do let yourself be one of those people. If you want to build a blogging empire then make a choice that you will not quit and find a traffic generation system that works.

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology. However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons.
Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging.
